To accurately represent the interests of student stakeholders across a variety of affiliated departments, the MATS Graduate Student Council adopts a structure of collective governance consisting of representatives across all affiliated departments. All decisions and events are collectively discussed and approved by all department representatives.

 

Department representatives are responsible for representing the perspectives of MATS students in their respective host departments as well as interfacing with student organizations in their host department to provide research field-specific networking and professional development opportunities for MATS students residing there.

Council Discussion Leads facilitate collective discussions and progress on event development across four key areas including community development, academic development, professional development, and research community development.
